Tipps, Utilities und Programme für Avisaro 2.0 Produktserie

Im folgenden ist eine Sammlung von hilfreichen Programmen und Utilities zusammengestellt.

'Ad-Hoc' WLAN Profile for Microsoft Windows 8

Microsoft implemented the support for 'ad-hoc' WiFi networks poorly in their Windows 8 / 8.1 operating system. 'Ad-hoc' WiFi networks are not displayed when the user presses the 'show network' button.

Avisaro WiFi products rely on the 'ad-hoc' mode to be configured initially. Here is a way to activate a proper configuration on a Windows 8 computer:

  1. Download the avisaro.zip file below. Extract the avisaro.xml file
  2. Open a command windows (typically by going into the search window and type 'cmd'). Make sure the command windows runs with 'administrator rights'
  3. Type the command
         netsh wlan add profile filename="avisaro.xml"
You might need to add the path to the location where you saved the avisaro.xml file
  4. Type the command
         netsh wlan connect name=avisaro ssid=avisaro
to activate the configuration. Check the system settings -> networks. You should see the 'avisaro' WiFi as the active network

That's it.

You can reach the configuration page when opening a browser and type "192.168.0.74" as the URL. Use 'admin' and '1234' when asked for user and password.
